BOATIFY Community Guidelines
Last Updated: November 17th, 2016
We believe in the Sharing Economy. We are approaching obstacles with a prospective towards the future, forming an outstanding community in a positive and optimistic way without criticizing and complaining. We focus on listening and understanding, we don´t make assumptions, rather ask extra to have a clear picture. Our vision is to recompose the framework of modern civilization - from onshore to offshore. Therefore we created these BOATIFY Member Standards so that everyone using our services has a shared standard for respect, accountability, and common courtesy.
BOATIFY maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding all forms of discrimination, harassment or abuse.
It is unacceptable to refuse to provide or accept services based on a person’s race, religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, sex, marital status, gender identity, age or any other characteristic protected under applicable federal or state law. This type of behavior can result in permanent loss of access to the BOATIFY platform.
The core of our connection is trust. Towards others, towards belongings and towards the nature. Community members will always treat each other with respect and genuine appreciation, each boat will be handled the most careful and maintaining way imaginable, we care about environment and strive to make as little of carbon foot print as possible. We reduce, reuse and recycle on water and land.
Boat owners, officers and all other members ("Members") expect each other to act appropriately and respect boundaries. It is disrespectful to make derogatory remarks about a person or group. Furthermore, commenting on appearance, asking overly personal questions and making unwanted physical contact are all considered inappropriate behaviors. Anyone who solicits or engages in sexual conduct while using the BOATIFY platform may lose future access to BOATIFY. We encourage you to be mindful of other Members’ privacy and personal space. Violence of any kind will not be tolerated.
Calm and clear communication is the most effective way to defuse any disagreement that may arise between you and another BOATIFY user. All officers and boat owners expect to be treated with respect and courtesy by one another. This expectation extends to personal property as well. As a user of any services, it is your responsibility to treat your officer’s boat with respect and not intentionally damage or remove their personal items from it. As a boat owner or any other third-party service provider, it is your responsibility to make every reasonable effort to return any lost items in your boat. It is best to treat a lost item respectfully. It is unacceptable to require additional payment to return an item; doing so could cause you to lose access to the BOATIFY platform.
The safety of boat owners, officers and Members on the BOATIFY platform is of utmost concern. In order to best protect everyone in the boat, we require the following:
Illegal substances and - unless explicitly allowed by law - open containers of alcohol are not permitted in officers’ boats. This is against the law and a serious violation of BOATIFY’s policy. Furthermore, BOATIFY does not tolerate drug or alcohol use by officers while providing services using the BOATIFY app. If a user believes an officer may be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, please request that the officer end the trip immediately and alert BOATIFY Support at www.boatify.me/help.
BOATIFY prohibits human trafficking of any kind, including the commercial sexual exploitation of children, while using our app. Anyone who engages in such activity may lose access to BOATIFY.
As an officer, it is your responsibility to transport Members safely in accordance with the rules of the waters in your location. Leading a boat when you're drowsy can cause accidents. So if you ever feel tired, take a break. And remember that according to the experts “sleep is the only true preventative measure against the risks of drowsy leading a boat”. As a member, it is your responsibility to follow every safety rule given by the officers or boat owners.
We require partners to keep documents up to date to remain active. Members, likewise, must maintain active payment information.
Members are responsible for guests joining their trip with them or anyone they request a ride for. It is your responsibility to ensure everyone adheres to BOATIFY’s Community Guidelines.
Violations of this Community Guidelines could result in loss of your BOATIFY Account. Please report any violations to BOATIFY, we want to hear your feedback! Alert us and we’ll take action!
If at any time you feel that you are faced with a situation that requires immediate emergency attention, please call the emergency service number in your area. Once all parties are safe and the situation has been handled by the authorities, please then notify BOATIFY. We will assist and take appropriate action as needed, including cooperating with law enforcement.
